Subaru has officially introduced the all-new 2026 Subaru Forester Wilderness, the most capable and adventure-ready Forester to date. Arriving in fall 2025, this next-generation SUV boasts increased off-road performance, a refined design, and updated technology for trail-tested confidence and everyday comfort.

Equipped with 9.3 inches of ground clearance, all-terrain Yokohama Geolandar® tires, and upgraded suspension, the 2026 Forester Wilderness is powered by a revised 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine delivering 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. Subaru’s standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, X-MODE® Dual Mode, and a tuned CVT with a shorter final drive ratio enhance control on rugged terrain.

Trail-focused upgrades include improved approach (23.5°), breakover (21°), and departure (25.5°) angles, plus a new 3,500-pound towing capacity—the most ever for a Forester. A rear differential temperature sensor and transmission cooler further enhance durability for off-road excursions.

Inside, the Forester Wilderness offers a water-resistant StarTex® interior, exclusive anodized copper accents, and for the first time, an available 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with Wilderness-specific graphics. A standard 11.6-inch Subaru STARLINK® Multimedia Plus system adds wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, plus SiriusXM, Bluetooth, and over-the-air updates.

With rugged features like underbody protection, 800-lb rated roof rails, and a quieter, more refined cabin thanks to Subaru’s updated global platform, the 2026 Forester Wilderness strikes a balance between adventure and everyday practicality.

Perfect for drivers who demand more from their SUV, the new Forester Wilderness reinforces Subaru’s reputation for reliability, safety, and capability—on and off the beaten path. Pricing and full specs will be announced closer to launch.
