February 17, 2026 | Camden, N.J. — Subaru of America, Inc. has announced that the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek has been named The Most Dependable Small SUV in America in the J.D. Power 2026 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). This recognition further reinforces Crosstrek’s reputation for long-term reliability and owner confidence.

The award follows another major achievement for the Crosstrek: being named the top Small SUV in the J.D. Power 2026 U.S. ALG Residual Value Awards for the third consecutive year. Together, these honors highlight the Crosstrek’s strength in both dependability and long-term value retention.

Now in its 37th year, the J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study evaluates more than 180 specific problem areas across nine major vehicle categories. These include driver-assist technologies, infotainment and user experience, powertrain performance, driving dynamics, and interior and exterior quality.

“Earning the title of The Most Dependable Small SUV in America from J.D. Power is a tremendous honor,” said Jeff Walters, President and COO of Subaru of America, Inc. “Dependability is at the heart of what our customers expect from Subaru. This recognition, alongside our continued commitment to affordability, reflects our dedication to delivering quality, capability, and long-term value to our owners.”

The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek is available now starting at $26,995 MSRP and is offered in Base, Premium, Sport, Sport Hybrid, Limited, Limited Hybrid, and Wilderness trim levels.

New for 2026, the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid features an Atkinson/Miller-cycle 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine paired with electric motors and a high-capacity lithium-ion battery, producing 194 combined horsepower.

Every 2026 Crosstrek comes standard with:

  • Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive

  • X-MODE® Dual Mode System with Hill Descent Control

  • At least 8.7 inches of ground clearance

  • Lineartronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)

According to Experian, 97% of Subaru Crosstrek vehicles sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today, further underscoring the model’s durability and owner loyalty.

With industry-leading dependability recognition, strong residual value, standard all-wheel capability, and a starting MSRP of $26,995, the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek continues to set the benchmark in the Small SUV segment.
