Subaru Earns Three 2026 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Awards For 2026 Subaru Forester, Ascent, and Outback.
These awards come under IIHS’ newly updated and more rigorous 2026 testing criteria, making this achievement even more significant. The enhanced standards include tougher crash evaluations, improved pedestrian safety testing, and a revised moderate overlap front crash test that now assesses rear-seat passenger protection using an additional test dummy.

The 2026 Subaru Forester, including Wilderness and Hybrid models, extends its remarkable legacy with 20 consecutive years of IIHS recognition. Joining it are the 2026 Subaru Outback, including Wilderness models, and the 2026 Subaru Ascent—each demonstrating Subaru’s commitment to safety across its SUV lineup.

As of March 2026, Subaru has earned an impressive 78 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards since 2013, reinforcing its position as a leader in automotive safety innovation.

All three award-winning models come equipped with Subaru’s EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology as standard. This advanced safety suite includes features such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Pre-Collision Braking, Emergency Stop Assist, and additional driver-assist technologies designed to enhance awareness and help prevent accidents.

The 2026 Subaru lineup offers a combination of safety, capability, and value, with starting MSRPs of $29,995 for the Forester, $34,995 for the Outback, and $40,795 for the Ascent. Each model is available now at Subaru retailers nationwide.
