Subaru Expands Commitment to Education
Subaru of America, Inc. has announced the continuation of its Subaru Loves Learning® initiative, reaffirming its role as the largest corporate supporter of AdoptAClassroom.org. In its fifth year of partnership, Subaru and its network of more than 630 retailers have helped support over 950,000 students in high-needs schools across the United States.
Addressing the Growing Need for Classroom Supplies
According to AdoptAClassroom.org, 92% of teachers have students whose families cannot afford school supplies. To fill this gap, teachers spend an average of $895 out of pocket each year on classroom essentials—an increase of 50% since 2015. Subaru’s funding helps relieve this burden, ensuring educators and students alike have the tools they need to succeed.
Subaru Teams with Actor Max Greenfield
This year, Subaru has partnered with actor, author, and education advocate Max Greenfield, who joined the Subaru Loves Learning program to highlight the importance of supporting teachers. Greenfield personally adopted a classroom and visited a local Los Angeles school to showcase how Subaru funding impacts real classrooms.
“Subaru Loves Learning stood out to me because it’s a conscientious effort to support the people who make such a big difference in our kids’ lives,” Greenfield shared.
A Local and National Impact
In addition to supporting schools nationwide, Subaru is adopting 91 classrooms in the Camden City School District, near its New Jersey headquarters. Employee volunteers will join teachers to set up classrooms and provide flexible funding for special projects. Subaru retailers across the country are also donating curated school supply kits filled with the most requested items.
Subaru: More Than a Car Company®
This initiative reflects Subaru’s commitment to being More Than a Car Company®. By supporting students, teachers, and schools in need, Subaru reinforces its dedication to communities and to the Subaru Love Promise®. With Subaru and AdoptAClassroom.org working together, more students across the U.S. will have access to a better education experience.
