Driving Community Wellness With Subaru Loves to Care®

Subaru of America, Inc. continues its commitment to community health by donating $30,000 to The Cooper Foundation in Camden, NJ. This marks the fourth consecutive year of support through the Subaru Loves to Care® initiative, helping eliminate barriers to healthcare for patients at Cooper University Health Care.

Empowering Patients With Essential Medical Tools

This critical funding provides Camden residents with durable medical equipment often not covered by insurance. Items such as blood pressure monitors, glucometers, scales, wheelchairs, walkers, and canes enable patients—especially those managing chronic conditions—to care for their health safely at home. These resources help reduce preventable hospital visits and improve overall quality of life.

Subaru’s Impact in Camden

In 2024 alone, Subaru’s partnership with The Cooper Foundation supported 402 Camden residents. Together, they distributed 24,780 pieces of medical equipment and provided 990 transportation rides for 230 patients. These services were delivered through trusted Cooper programs, including the Urban Health Institute, the Cooper Rowan Clinic for uninsured residents, the Center for Population Health, and the Maternal/Infant Unit.

A Partnership Building a Healthier Future

Philip A. Norcross, Esq., chairman of The Cooper Foundation Board, stated: “Our work simply wouldn’t be possible without corporate champions like Subaru. This grant removes real-world obstacles for many vulnerable patients.” Anthony J. Mazzarelli, MD, JD, MBE, co-CEO of Cooper University Health Care, added, “Subaru is not just a partner but a true neighbor caring for the Camden community.”

Erica McLeod, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Subaru, shared, “At Subaru, we believe in showing up for our hometown. Subaru Loves to Care is about making a real difference, and our partnership with Cooper puts that promise into action.”

Subaru’s Legacy of Giving Back

This contribution is part of Subaru’s broader legacy of support for Cooper initiatives, which includes donating emergency vehicles to Cooper EMS, contributions to the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper, and sponsorship of Pink Roses & Teal Magnolias for women’s cancer programs.
