SLC_2025_Image_2__mid.jpgA Decade of Comfort and Hope for Cancer Patients

At Beyer Subaru Alexandria, we’re proud to be part of a brand that continues to make a meaningful impact beyond the road. Subaru of America recently announced a remarkable milestone—ten consecutive years of partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) through its Subaru Loves to Care® initiative. By the end of 2025, Subaru and its nationwide network of retailers will have supported nearly 500,000 cancer patients and their families, making Subaru the largest automotive donor to LLS.

Bringing Comfort During Difficult Times

Battling blood cancers is often a long and emotional journey. Patients can feel isolated and overwhelmed, but Subaru strives to bring comfort and encouragement during these challenging moments. Through heartfelt gestures like custom heart-shaped blankets, curated care kits, and handwritten messages of hope, Subaru and its retailers remind patients they are not alone.

Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America, shared:

“A decade of working together on Subaru Loves to Care has only served to reinforce how meaningful a personal touch can be for those facing cancer. Hand in hand with our retailers and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, we remain committed to delivering warmth, love, and comfort during some of life’s most difficult moments.”

Subaru Retailers Making a Local Impact

This June, over 630 Subaru retailers nationwide—including Beyer Subaru Alexandria—will deliver blankets and personal messages to local hospitals. Of those, 370 retailers will also provide care kits filled with comforting essentials for patients undergoing treatment.

Additionally, participating retailers contribute to LLS’s Urgent Need Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Fund, helping families cover non-medical expenses like transportation, housing, and groceries. Subaru will also match donations made to LLS.org during Subaru Loves to Care (June 1–30, 2025) up to $100,000—amplifying the impact of every contribution.

E. Anders Kolb, M.D., President and CEO of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, noted:

“Thoughtful gestures like blankets and handwritten notes from Subaru and its retailers offer real comfort, love, and encouragement during treatment, especially for children. When I think about the number of lives we have touched over the past ten years, it fills my heart to know that so many patients were reminded they’re not alone.”
