Subaru and the ASPCA® Partner to Support Shelter Pets

This October, Subaru of America, Inc. and more than 630 Subaru retailers nationwide are making a difference for animals in need through the Subaru Loves Pets® initiative. Together with the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®), Subaru will contribute more than $3.1 million in grants to local animal shelters across the country.

As the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA, Subaru’s support helps cover critical adoption preparation, veterinary care, and services for shelter animals—improving their chances of finding loving homes.

Helping Pets Find Homes Nationwide

According to the ASPCA, an estimated 5.8 million animals entered shelters in 2024. Subaru and its retailers are stepping up by hosting adoption events, microchipping clinics, and other pet-focused activities throughout October. Subaru will also donate $20 to the ASPCA for each eligible purchase from Subaru Parts Online, including Subaru Pet-Friendly Accessories, up to $10,000.

Celebrating National Make a Dog’s Day – October 22

Subaru will once again celebrate National Make a Dog’s Day on October 22, 2025. This Subaru-created holiday encourages dog lovers to do something extra special for their pets and share the love on social media with the hashtag #MakeADogsDay. Subaru also highlights the importance of adopting or fostering shelter animals, especially the “Underdogs”—older, disabled, or harder-to-adopt dogs who deserve a second chance.

Subaru’s Long-Term Commitment to Pets

Since launching Subaru Loves Pets in 2008, Subaru has donated more than $70 million to animal welfare organizations, supporting the rescue, transportation, adoption, and health of over 700,000 pets nationwide. This commitment shows Subaru’s dedication to being More Than a Car Company®, standing alongside families and the animals they love.

Join Subaru in Supporting Shelter Animals

Subaru will amplify the Subaru Loves Pets campaign across streaming and digital platforms, including NBC’s TODAY Show, Peacock, Hulu, Roku, and YouTube/Subaru, as well as through partnerships on TikTok, Meta, and more. Together, Subaru, the ASPCA, and pet lovers nationwide are making October a month of compassion and community.
