On February 3, 2026, Subaru of America, Inc. announced that the 2026 Subaru BRZ has once again earned a spot on the Car and Driver 2026 Editors’ Choice List, marking the third consecutive year the lightweight sports coupe has received this prestigious recognition in the Affordable Sports Cars category.
Car and Driver’s Editors’ Choice Awards are determined by expert automotive reviewers who test, rate, and rank more than 450 vehicles across 47 segments. To qualify, vehicles must earn a minimum rating of 9 out of 10 stars, highlighting the BRZ’s standout performance, balance, and driving dynamics.
Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine producing 228 horsepower, the 2026 BRZ delivers power exclusively to the rear wheels for a true sports-car driving experience. A standard 6-speed manual transmission comes equipped on all models, while a performance-tuned 6-speed automatic transmission is available for drivers who prefer it.
