2025_Subaru_Forester_Hybrid_01__mid.jpgSubaru safety leadership continues to stand out as the 2026 Subaru Forester earns the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ award under the organization’s more rigorous 2025 testing standards. The designation applies to all Forester trim levels, including the Subaru Forester Hybrid, and marks the 10th TOP SAFETY PICK+ award for the Forester.

For 2025, IIHS raised the bar by introducing stricter requirements for the updated moderate overlap front crash test, which now includes an additional rear-seat dummy to better evaluate back-seat passenger protection. To qualify for TOP SAFETY PICK+, vehicles must earn a “good” rating in this updated test, making the award one of the most selective safety recognitions in the industry.

Subaru’s commitment to safety was reflected across its lineup in 2025, earning two TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards and two TOP SAFETY PICK awards overall. As of December 2025, Subaru has accumulated 75 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards since 2013, reinforcing its long-standing focus on driver awareness and passenger protection.

The 2026 Subaru Forester is offered in six trim levels—Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Touring, and Wilderness—with a starting MSRP of $29,995. The Subaru Forester Hybrid is available in Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring trims, starting at $36,595 MSRP. Beginning with the 2026 model year, all Forester models sold in the U.S. are assembled at Subaru of Indiana Automotive in Lafayette, Indiana.

Every 2026 Forester comes equipped with the latest generation of Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, including Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, Steering Responsive Headlights, and High Beam Assist, helping drivers stay confident on every journey.
